CTS Macau sampling buses support nucleic acid testing at construction sites in Macau

date:2022-08-30

Recently, with the launch of the sixth round of Macau’s national nucleic acid testing, the CTS Macau actively responded to the SAR government’s call to “reduce the flow of people and take nucleic acid samples nearby”, and urgently added two sampling buses to the construction sites of Studio City Phase II and the Macau Cotai Healthcare Complex to provide support for on-site sampling for relevant people, which achieved good results.

In order to deeply support the epidemic prevention work of the Macau SAR, the CTS Macau set up a nucleic acid testing laboratory in June, and steadily increased the testing volume. Up to now, the maximum testing capacity of the laboratory has reached 25,000 tubes per day. At the same time, 4 sampling buses were refitted and have been put into use. Each one has four sampling positions, and the daily sampling volume reaches 3,000 to 4,000 person-times, providing door-to-door testing services for groups in high demand in red and yellow code areas and large sites, which played an important role in the implementation of national nucleic acid testing. Since the epidemic outbreak began, our staff have been fighting day and night. The newly recruited medical and nursing team is professional and dedicated, spares no effort to complete the national nucleic acid tests, which fully demonstrated the bravery of all members.

In the near future, the CTS Macau will accelerate the pace of testing capacity building. It is expected that the laboratory can increase to 50,000 tubes of testing capacity per day, which can meet the testing needs of about 500,000 people. At the same time, it will further deploy 2 sampling buses and expand the team of professional samplers. This will provide a solid guarantee for Macau’s anti-epidemic work, and will further create more employment opportunities for Macau residents under the epidemic environment.
